				 | Leg hurt!!!!! :( Ok so tonight Ella was fine and playing with two other dogs that she is always around. All of the sudden, she started limping. She never yelped, there is no sticker or goathead in her paw, she just wont put pressure on it. I can bend it and she doesnt cry or anything, but you can tell it doesnt feel good. She just wants to lay down and keep it straight out. Thats how she seems most comfortable. I will take her to the vet if it isnt better in the morning... what could it be tho????????? she is barely 6 months old.....

| The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | She probably just strained it playing. Keep her quiet for the rest of the night and see what she does tomorrow. If she's still limping then, I would get her to the vet.

				 | As long as she is resting comfortably, I would not worry. Just take her to your vet in the morning if she is still limping. Chances are, she will be fine in the morning!

				 | This sounds like LP to me. Not an emergency, but will need to be seen by a vet to see how bad it is.

				 | This happened to Buddy about three months ago. I took him to the vet the following morning and he had a soft tissue injury. They gave him megacam in a shot and pill form and the next day he was fine. Took the meds for 7days and went back for a follow up and all was ok. I am pretty sure he jumped or fell off the back of the couch looking out the slider for something to bark at! Hpe you baby is much better today. |

				 | My little guy is also limping. He was last night and a littler this morning as well. I did notice when my dad was over yesterday that he picked up Snickers and Snick let out a yelp. I think his leg got a little twisted. I'm going to wait another day to take him to the vet. Thanks Archie....I think Snick also has a small tear or something.

				 | My thoughts exactly. ANYTIME a yorkie suddenly starts limping (even after a fall or jumping off a couch, etc) I would immediately suspect LP (luxated pattela) and would schedule a vet visit to check it out. It is very common in toys and may or may not require surgery.
