| [QUOTE=Josie's Mom;2820336]UPDATE: [B]Thanks again & again everyone. Your prayers and well wishes have worked! He is breathing well and hasn't coughed anymore. The Vet is releasing him this afternoon around 4pm. They would like to see him eat before he goes and he will need some meds. That is wonderful news. Good job mom |

| Great to hear the good news! Just want to let you know: Keep a good eye on him ... he should steadily improve. If in the next 48-72 hours he looks worse, or like he's not improving, get him back to the vets. Sometimes the antibiotic may need to be changed. Pneumonia is very serious and the next few days are critical. Mine was put on the wrong AB and his fever shot up to over 105.4. No fault of the vet, they prescribe ABs to handle the most prevalent bugs out there at any given time for any specific area. It was a stong AB, just not the correct one to handle what my little guy had. As soon as his ABs were changed, he began improving immediately. If you are unsure, call your vet right away, don't wait or put it off and see how he's doing later. Still keep a close watch on his breathing, and be sure he has a warm spot to sleep, no drafts or floor. If his bed is normally on the floor, try elevating it a bit with a 3-5 inch high cardboard box (to provide some insulation). Good luck with him ... sending prayers for a speedy recovery ...
