| OH NO!!! He ate gum on a shoe! We just found Kimbo eating some gum off the bottom of DH's shoe. It is a tiny spot on the shoe, the size of a penny, but I'm worried. He just came from town and must have picked it up from the ground. I have no clue if it is sugar free or not. Is my baby going to be ok? I'm beside myself with worry. |

| Tough one. If it did contain xylitol, I have no idea if it would be toxic after chewing. I think I'd call my vet in this case unless I would comfortable inducing vomiting. Maybe the ASPCA's website has information on it.

| I don't think the chewed gum is dangerous, just gross. Do you think there is such a thing as gum karma? I keep telling my husband there is, LOL!!! I tell him that every time you throw down a piece of gum, you will step in somebody else's gum, so throw it in the trash. Now I warn him about dogs picking it up and getting poisoned. He just rolls his eyes and shakes his head. I am always watching out for things Daisy might pick up. She is so quick, tho, and swallows things before I can get them away from her.

| Thanks for your advice. I'm watching him closely. He's loving every minute of it because he has my complete attention. Yes, I absolutely believe that you reap what you sow. Even if it's just throwing a piece of gum on the ground. I tell my kids that all the time! I kinda feel bad because I really snapped at the DH for forgetting to check the bottom of his shoes before he took them off. I always try to be very careful, but the guys in my house forget a lot. I was running around the house screaming that nothing BETTER happen to him or else! ...or else what? Or else I'd cry a river because I love my baby so much. |
