| Not eating right... Lucky hasn't been eating right the past couple of days. He won't eat in the morning like usual, not even treats. As the day goes on he starts to eat little by little and by dinner, I can barely get him to stop. Has anyone had a similar situation? |

| How old is Lucky? It's very important if he is a pup that he eats. Does he not feel good..or do you think he is being picky? Maybe you can try to boil some chicken and rice and mix it in his dry food to get him to eat...

| He's 14 months old. He seems to be fine, he just doesn't seem to want to eat. He has plenty of energy and eats fine at night. I'm stumped. |

| He just might not have an appetite early in the day. I have a friend with two Yorkies and she only feeds once a day in the evening for this very reason. They both would not eat during the day. Her vet said they were growing fine and she shouldn't worry. With that being said you still may want to have Lucky looked at by a vet to rule out any potential problems. |

| Eating Habits My Abby does the same thing, only eating in the evening and she has actually gained a healthy 2 lbs. My vet said as well not to worry. She also does not eat when I am looking at her, such a diva... |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Taffy has days like this, too. In fact, if I were to pinpoint a routine behavior for her it would almost be that she eats every other day! It's not quite that extreme but if she's not hungry, you cannot make her eat. We keep food out all the time so that she can free feed. When we recently took her back to our breeder for boarding while we were on a trip, I was afraid she would tell us that Taffy was underweight. Imagine our surprise at just the opposite! Our baby was a tad overweight! Now that she's spayed, too, our breeder wants us to be careful not to overfeed. She says that our girl just happens to have that pattern of eating. She eats very little every other day but the other days, she eats heartily. Since she's healthy and having no problems, we are okay with her choices. She has never had a problem with low blood sugar and she does drink water well even on those days she's not eating very much. |

| what are you feeding him; maybe he doesnt like the food; yorkies tend to be very picky eaters. i had this problem for almost 2 years now with my dog; she wasnt eating and drinking at times; she ended up in the hospital twice with gastritis and dehydration. until finally i switch food to the honest kitchen; i feed her 4 small meals and i add digestive enzymes and probiotic; so far so good. just to make her to eat something; boil some chicken and rice; if not then you can give baby gerber food; my vet told me to give her that for 2 wks after the hospital stay and then i switch her to the honest kitchen; and of course the added digestive enzymes and probiotic are life savers. good luck
