| Something with his leg Guys help. Something happened last 3 days, he can be walking or playing, or drinking water and all of the sudden just starts yelping and walkes away without using his right paw. Upon visual inspection there is nothing wrong, I tried massaging the leg in doubt to find the trouble spot and nothing. He will cry out for a second and then carry on as if nothing happened. I know he is a bit chicken when it comes to this and will over exagerate but still. Can dogs pull a leg muscle?? What can I do short of taking him to the vet?? Dave and Rocky. | Is it the back leg? Could be Luxating Patella? The knee cap could have slipped out and might have had trouble slipping back in? How old is he?

| Its the front leg. and he is 2.5 years old. He had something similar about half a year ago. Would not jump on to the couch, but he got over it and healed I guess. Doctor gave us some pills that I mix in with food, to lubricate joints and such. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | it could be a pulled muscle or a sprain, or it could be something entirely different. what about his neck? does he seem to be holding that any different? Can you move his neck up, down, right, and left without him yelping? sometime neck problems will show up with symptoms of holding one of the front legs up or limping on one of the front legs. only way to tell is by going to the vet. It could also be lyme disease in which the vet could do a blood test to find out. if you don't want to jump to the vet you can crate him for a few days to see if it help. resting only, no jumping, running, or playing. just some ideas.

I dont know about lyme, as I have the drops that I give him once a month on his neck, and he hasn't had any ticks. This started happening 4 days ago, and happens randomly.

| Have you checked his toenails? If his nails are long sometimes the nails can get hung on something and cause injury to the toe. |

do you remember what he was doing when he first yelped? maybe he tweaked it while playing or running.

Toe nails look ok, I cut them today a bit just to make sure. No yelping since then. I can't recall what might have caused it. You guys know how these monkeys are, they are doing 100 things in 1 second. So no particular incident that might be a suspect of injury. Lets see how the day goes.

| Ok, so I narrowed it down to Rocky's front right leg. If i apply pressure to his upper leg muscle, shoulder muscle, he lets me know that he is not happy. I don't know what to think. We will go to a doctor on tuesday. Thanks Dave & Rocky |
