| New Baby and loose stool I picked up my new baby today and went right to the vet for a check-up. He had diareah in the carrier and it was tested negative. I am still concerned . It looks loose and kind of grainy. He is 8 1/2 weeks and 1 lb even. I have 3 days to return him if he does not check out ok. should i have him tested for anything else. He is eating ok and drinking well, playing and sleeping alot too. i give him nutra cal also. This is my third yorkie baby but the smallest. The breeder that i purchase him from gave me his health record and papers but not a one year health agreement and no contract. She speaks little english and was hard to communicate. What are some causes of loose stool? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Congrats on your new baby. He could have diahrea from the stress of going to his new home. I would keep a close watch on him and have him retested if it doesn't clear up. He is little and young so you need to make sure he is eating frequently and drinking so he doesn't get dehydrated or low sugar. Some times giardia is harder to diagnose so maybe take another sample in tomorrow. Keep us posted.
