| very sick yorkie puppy - can anyone help? I have a 5 month toy yorkie - he was extremely healthy until last monday - at that time he became lathargic and kept falling down. we rushed to vet - they gave him wormer and did glucose test and sent me home. he got progressively worse overnight and tuesday took to my own vet - he did battery of tests and nothing was out of ordinary - except he could not stand kept falling, no energy - was referred to neuroligist - he had MRI - showed brain infection and then spinal tap - tomorrow he goes for liver test - he seems like he has ALD - he is like a ragdoll - he is eating - he is drinking. he is on steiroids and ampicylin - he was on stool softner but not now - as liver test tomorrow - his liver count was at about 40 - so the neurologist doesnt think it's a liver shunt - he has had all his shots - we love him so much and we need to know if anyone has gone thru this.. his parents are very healthy - i know breeder - mother is 5 years old so no distemper or other disease - please if anyone has any ideas what this is - pls tell me... |

| Bless his little heart! It could be a number of things, you are on the right track and sounds like the Vets are doing the right stuff. All I can say is it's great that he's eating and drinking! Very good signs. Sending hugs and prayers for a speedy diagnosis and even speedier recovery.
