| ![]() Last night for a good 5 hours or so Mandie was acting like she was going to throw up but wouldn't. It sounded like she was choking. It was really strange. She has thrown up before, but never like this... I would massage her throat to see if I could help whatever it was come up, but nothing. So we have an appointment this morning to see whats going on. Hope its nothing..just me being a worry wort...

Once in awhile one of mine will get hair from their chin area down their throat (like a litle clump) and they will act like they ar going to throw up. The hair is attached to them so they have no way of getting it out, I just gently pull it out. Hope she is better today.

Yea, I made sure there wasn't any hair down her throat. The vet said it is a mild collapsed trachea. Which I am guessing is not a good thing, but not terrible either??? He tried to explain what it was but I'll google it to find out for myself. He gave us some hydromet syrup for when she coughs.

| ![]() Okay, I have been reading the forums all day trying to find out more about the collapsing trachea and other things. From what I have read most of the vets did an x-ray to see if that was whats wrong. Mine didn't do that. Should I go and have an x-ray done, just for my own peace of mind. I am really hoping that it is just something she ate, b/c she hasn't "gagged" except for a couple times this morning and then after I gave her the Hydromet syrup she was fine....? Any advice is appreciated!!

| ![]() Hmmm, sometimes they can feel it by palpation, but I'd say it would have to be pretty bad for that. The best way is with diagnostic imaging. I would agree that an xray would be a good idea.
