| My dog might have a neurologic disease... is it fatal???? Hello, I have a four year old yorkie (male) about 7lbs.. he's always been a healthy dog but recently he was showing abnormal signs with his head.. he would put his head down n tilt it towards side and squints his eyes alot.. so i took him to the vet and they said everything is fine... but two days ago he started to show signs of blindness (hesistant to go down stairs, bumping into walls, etc) and also has dialated pupils.. so i took him to the ER couple hours ago and they said it might be neurological so i made an appt with neuro doc.. but all the examination (MRI, spinal tap, etc) came out to be almost $4000.00..... our family has decided to just do a consult with neurologist... i'm just scared that my dog has a fatal disease... did anyone have a yorkie with neurological disease that can help me out??? |

| Has he been bile acids tested for liver shunt? That is usually the first test run (after glucose) when neurological symptoms occur in Yorkies. It is about $100 and any vet can do it.

| It could be the liver, but it could be hydrocephalus. Is he acting restless? |
