I already knew i was switching vets but the degree of incompetency i did not know. it's clear that the practice is just trying to make $$$ (no wonder she referred me to her husband for the surgery, tho i said no thanks). I literally spent about $600-$700 just in the past couple months. not to mention the $300 for her annual they charged me.

/end rant. sorry i went off a bit there.

anyhow, yep surgery bright and early tomorrow. i miss her so much. she has to stay there the night. and tomorrow night as well. i just wonder what she is thinking over there. all alone and away from me

sorry to heat that about your baby; i just saw the post and at first i thought it sounds like hypoglycemia; however dog food causes problems such as the one your baby have; my baby is always sick everytime she's on dog food; just this past monday she was in the hospital form vomiting blood; they dont know what she has but they suspect gastritis. now i have her on homecooked rice and chicken and i add a bit of gerber baby food (apple and chicken dinner) and so far so good;
good luck on your baby's surgery and please ask the vet if you can keep her on homecooked food since she has this problem. keep us update.

Ah, I just came across this post too. I am saying many prayers today for your little Bindi! I just know you are in the right place and things will be find once the surgery is over.

On your other note, so sorry you went through all that with you vet. This just goes to show that it's okay to doubt a vet. Not all of them are bad and unknowledgeable but not all of them are good and knowledgeable either!

Update: we picked her up and are resting in the hotel. The incision is so scary looking. She's in her onesie resting now. She seems sore and in a little bit of pain. Thanks for all ur prayers! Here's to a speedy recover! We will drive back to south Florida tomorrow.

i am glad she's doing okay; i thought they will keep her overnight for observation to see if she's eating and whatnot. how is she doing with water and food. i hope she feels better soon.

SHe spent two nights there and from what I understand and have heard on the support group, they release them on Saturday. granted of course there are no complications during the surgery. :-/
forgot to mention they said she's eating well and she drank water when we got back too:-) they said she's been scarfing down that l/d lol funny bc with me at home she's sooooo over it

Great News!!!!

Some tips about food. Some people baked the L/D wet. Some people add a little water to make it thinner.

The dry kibble Rx Royal Canin 14 (special for Liver issues) may be more palatable for her.
