| Winston's penumonia Winston went to the vet yesterday for x-rays because his kennel cough has not been knocked out by the two months of antibiotics he has been on. Turns out he now has penumonia! Has anyone else been through this with their yorkie? I'm curious what to do to make him more comfortable. He still eats and plays like theres nothing wrong, the only sign is the coughing. The vet put him on clavomox but I feel like he should have had nebulizer treatments or something. |

| I haven't been through that but I hope the antibiotics kick in soon and give him some relief. Poor little guy!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry to hear Winston had pneumonia. 2 of mine had kennel cough a few years ago and it took 3 months to clear up and three rounds of clavimox. I think I also would put them in the bathroom and run the shower real hot so they would breathe in the steam and help there breathing. Hope he gets over it soon.

| No he only gave him clavomox tablets. I thought he would have given something else to help him cough it up but he didnt. I am supposed to percuss his chest when he coughs to help him get it up though. Did your puppy feel poor when he was sick or did he maintain his energy? |

| He felt pretty bad, actually I don't know if he looked worse or felt worse.I thought I would loose him there for a couple of days.I think it was about day 5 when he was at his worst so I took him in and vet put him on the Mucinex. I'll tell you all kinds of ugly stuff came out. |

YT Addict | i went through the same thing with two of my babies they kept giving kennel cough back and forth to each other. i tried three different antibiotics and nothing worked. the antibiotics only help for preventing pneumonia it doesn't treat the kennel cough. kennal cough is like a human cold there is no cure for it you just have to wait it out. Well anyway my little girl had it for 5 months. I gave them both vitamin c and took them in the shower with me to breath the steam. but she got over it by herself and my little leo is still a little congested but its going away i just make sure it doesn't get worse. i right now have him on another round of antibiotics because he hurt his paw and needed stitches but. they just have to get over it themselves. but if it turns into pneumonia like you said it did they need the antibiotics there really isn't much more you can do. oh i did buy petalive kc-defense that seemed to help them too.
