| Help! So in the past week or so I have noticed strange little dirt like specs on my boy Harley's underbelly (near his wee-wee). He has the tendency to frequently like himself down there and I am wondering if that has caused some sort of irritation/dryness or if he may be having some sort of food allergy? I have checked him for fleas and I he definitely doesn't have any. I had him on Primal raw dog food for a while a year or so ago and I noticed a similar reaction and I just recently put him back on Primal so I am suspecting that there is something he is either A) Missing from his diet and/or B) Allergic to something in this particular brand of food Lastly, he is only 3 years old and all he does most of the day is lay around, he will sometimes play and run around but other times he almost seems depressed. I wonder if he is lonely and needs to be more socialized? or needs more exercise? I try to take him out as much as possible and play with him in the house for added exercise but from what i've been reading on here it seems like maybe this lethargic state he has been in is abnormal. I am going to take him to the vet tomorrow and get a blood test to find out what might be causing this, or if I am simply being an over-protective mother... Any suggestions as to what might be going on with my little guy would be extremely helpful. I worry about him so much, he is my joy and love of my life |

My furkids Donating Member | I was thinking fleas but, if you aren't seeing any and this has happened before maybe he needs to go to the vet. As for the playing...I have 2 girls. 4yrs old and 3 yrs old...they have certain times during the day that they run around like little maniac's chasing each other...Lillie (younger one) is more playful than Sadie. They like to laze around for most of the day too...If you are concerned about this I would mention it to your vet.

| When I moved to LA with my last Yorkie Candy when I was 18 a lonnng time ago we had a flea infestation. The fleas that bit her would leave the dirt like marks on her that your describing. Maybe that's a cause? I'm back in Illinois and have since had a problem with them (knock on wood) but I thought i'd offer up the suggestion anyhow.
