| ![]() No idea. But if the vet says to try it, I suppose I would. My guess is that it could help her intestines rest but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it didn't work. Did they only do a regular fecal?

one kind is the salad spinner kind (i have no idea what he told me, it was for sure not a salad spinner test though.) but he said something about spinning real fast and the bacteria would come to the top and poop stays at the bottom... and he said they didn't see anything when they did that. and then, they also tested it another way. i think he said by putting the poop in salin water and playing with it (eeks, glad i don't have to play with poop myself!) anyway, i think he said he was poking at the poop in salin water and didn't see anything. he was going to show me the poop and explain to me more i guess. but they already tossed the poop (thank god) so he wasn't able to show me how they played with the poop... LOL. does that sound like a regular fecal? i didn't know there are all these different ways to play with poop! i thought they would just stick it under a microscope and look at it! they do a lot with poop! hehe ![]()

| ![]() This is how a regular fecal is done: fecal flotation Generally when one takes their pup to the vet for a fecal, the vet just says "yes" (positive) or "no" (negative). lol, at least he is detail orientated. ![]()

It just made it softer. Fiber is a regulator and has the potential to do either usually depending on the type. It's not going to hurt anything but it's really your call.

| ![]() How is Milu doing now? i just barely saw this thread now! When Uni had diarrhea her vet gave Diarsynal (sp?) paste. it worked like a charm! Coats the intestinal walls to prevent further stripping of the walls that causes blood to be in it. I hope Milu didn't get to the point where she had bloody loose stool!

milu doesn't have bloody stool thank god. so far it seems like if i give her enough pumpkin then the poop is somewhat firm. so i might just keep doing that as well. i wish we knew why she is having runny poop. vet says nothing is wrong with her.

| ![]() i gave milu immodium A/D once on saturday night, and again sunday morning because she was still having runny poop. but now i think she is constipated because she hasn't really been going #2 and when she did go yesterday, it was like rocks... i guess i should give her pumpkin again? since pumpkin is good for both constipation AND diarrhea? |

Yes, pumpkin will soften it up again. Purina HA made Ellie's stool very hard (we were treating her for soft stool) and I had to give her pumpkin to soften it. ![]()

If her stool isn't right on most dog foods, there is probably an underlying problem...you shouldn't have to give pumpkin.
