Bump Rosie has a bump on her so I took her to the vet. He said it's either histiocytoma, mast cell tumor, cyst, trauma, or in-grown hair. Anyone have experience with any of these? I hope it's not mast cell tumor because he said that's bad. He gave me the option of waiting for a couple of weeks and see if it goes down on its own or sedating her to remove it. Should I wait before the sedate her?

Layla has one on her paw- it is either that first word you said ingrown hair, staph infection or something like a cold sore... lol.. we too are supposed to wait it out because if it is that first thing- it will go away in a few weeks. but that does NOT stop the worrying!

I am so sorry that you and Rosie are going through this. I know you have got to be very scared. I have not gone through this but I found info on both histiocytoma and mast cell tumor. I hope it helps. If it were me, I think I might go with the surgery to remove it asap. However, that is just me, only you know what is best for your baby. Please keep us posted on her. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Histiocytoma Mast Cell Tumor

Gosh if your vet thinks its histiocytoma then it probably is. I am sure he's seen a lot of that, so he would definitely know.

it is on the pad of her foot- so far she hasn't messed with it- The vet says if she starts to we have to remove it. Layla does not do well when she is put under so i really hope it will go away on its own. | |

Layla is also over 3- she was 3 in march so technically not under the age for histiocytoma. So don't worry about that at all.

We'e getting the bump removed on Thursday She keeps licking it and makes the bump bleed. I tried putting a shirt on her but the bump is high enough where she can still lick it. The bright side is she'll get her teeth cleaned at the same time.
