| Limping a normal reaction? I posted this on the emergency board, but I don't think there is much activity there. I just wanted to ask, have any of you witnessed limping with your puppies when they have gotten shots? (i.e. in the leg in which it was given?) |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | This didn't happen to Joey, but I believe I've read about it before, and there can be pain and tenderness at the injection site. I just wanted to say, this is a perfect question to ask your vet. When you paid for the shots, you also paid for follow up questions. Vets do not resent you asking questions such as this, and it may be important for staff to make a note of it in your puppy's record. Joey's vet usually calls the day after shots to see if Joey's experiencing any problems, but you can always call your vet first. It's really important to create a relationship with your vet, and they love it when the dogs have involved and concerned owners. Hope he/she recovers quickly.

| Ooooooo, it hurts, Mom! Our Bella had a lump after her last set of shots. If we tried to pick her up she yelped in pain. It lasted about 36 hours and then she was fine. She didn't want to walk for the first 2-3 hours. She slept ALOT! But before we knew it she was her old self again. It was sad, but we knew it was for her own good. Good luck! |
