| So he's not a yorkie, but I still have a ?? I was snuggling with Sunny, our golden, and noticed behind his ear that it felt like there was a little matt or something. Well I brush him regularly, so I thought it was odd and maybe he got some food or something stuck there. So I moved his ear forward and noticed a bald spot, not red, but rather sticky with yellow pus. So I inspected it, and could find no sore, no sign of trama, no tick, etc. I felt all around his neck and other ear, and just on the front of his neck, where his collar lies, he has little scabby sores. He doesn't have any fleas or anything like that. I called the vet and he has an appt at 3:45 on Monday, but I thought I would see what everyone elses ideas are. I am going to clean the spots well and put some ointment on them, but I am worried about what is causing it. Maybe some sort of allergy to his collar? It is only in that area. I took it off just in case. He shows in a few weeks and I have to have him in top shape!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Poor fella....has he been scratching in those areas? Or biting/licking his paws? It could be allergies, and that he scratched too hard.

| If it is all around where his collar is, I would suspect some sort of allergy to the collar. It wouldn't be a Hartz collar would it? |

| It's not a hartz collar. I have not noticed scratching at all, that's what's odd. It doesn't seem to bother him at all. We just put this one on him a week and a half ago because he outgrew his old one.

| That was my first thought or even a lil creature like a spider could have found a few sheltered spots under his collar to nest & nibble creating the perfect environment for infection to set in. Hope your baby's neck is back to normal in no time!
