| Please send good thoughts to Ava I just got home from emergency care, my 4 yr old yorkipoo ava is there. She got sick Saturday, my ex told me she was going in circles and rolling around with her arms and leg straight. HE took her into the vet and they said they thought she may have vertigo due to low blood sugar. I have her now and she was throwing up and not pooping, she also started looking very weak and lethargic , she was hiccuping so i thought but it may have been a small seizure. I tok her to emergency care and they have her now, they said her blood sugar was so low( 25 and its supposed to be 100) they dont know what it is and i am sooo scared. It can be anything, a liver shunt, she ate some gum, she got into something. Please send good thoughts, im scared and whats worse i cant get a hold of her dad, he is camping and has bad phone reception.

| Hello everyone, After a terribly long and stressful night we picked Ava up from emergency care. She had vomited a small amount during the night and her glucose levels werent as they wanted them to be, so we tok her to her home vet. They did an ultrasound to check for a liver shunt and thankfully ruled that out, BUT, they stil do not know what is gong on with her. This is stressful as Ava has always bed pretty healthy wit the exceptions of an ear infection. They are now doing another test to see if prehaps she has a tumor on her pancreas, i have never heard of this but i guess it would block her insulin levels. Im probably not explaining it right as i am a lil tired stil from all that has happened. The god thing is her daddy is coming back from out of town to help me with her so she will be happy. Honestly i dont know what i would do if it werent for 2 things. My fiance who has been very strong and forthcoming with his credit card and yorkietalk, I havent been on in awhile due to wedding planning, but you all came to my need when i needed you most, I am grateful. Thank you so much, I will keep you all updated.

| Gum Someone has already asked , but I will ask again . What kind of gum did she get into? If it has xylitol in it , this could be the problem. It's toxic to dogs. |

| I am glad she seems a bit better. Please have a Bile Acid Test done. I know you said you had a U/S done, but they are only about 60-80% accurate in determining if there is a Liver Shunt or not, so I hate to burst that bubble, but I wouldn't never "bank" on the U/S and No Shunt. The BAT is a simple fasting blood draw, costs about $80 depending on the area, but it is a good indicator of liver function. She may or may not have a LS or she could also have MVD, which would never be seen on a U/S |
