| Continual fast licking My 2 1/2 yr. old male yorkie, Lester has recently started this odd habit and I'm not quite sure why. He tilts his head back and to the left and then continually licks his mouth, as if he were licking an ice cream cone or something but really fast. It's hard to describe but its like he has soemthing on his tongue that he's trying to get off. He doesn't do this all the time. I feel really bad for him. He doesn't seem to be in any pain. Does anyone have any thoughts? I'm thinking of videoing it so that I can show the vet. Thanks! |

| Hi, welcome. My late Yorkie would do this and the vet never was able to tell me what it was. She did it alot of the time, never when at the vets! I read someone said that it may be an underlying condition on here, though - have a search through. |

| Rosie's mouth is shaped so that dry kibble seems to always get caught between her teeth and cheek. I've learned what to watch for so I can help her get it out. ~Joanne~

| continual fast licking LOL !! My Abbey has always done this. We call her our snake dog. When we got our second yorkie it was even written as a yorkie trait on our paper work. I don't think it's very attractive but we love her anyways.!!! That being said I'm not sure why yours would just starte doing this. |
