A high Ph balance can be caused by a variety of reasons, however with this issue, stones are more likely to form due to the excessive alkaline balance. There are several options that you may opt for. Use distilled water for your puppy, this eliminates a lot of the minerals that are found in todays water which can be a detriment to an already compromised dog. Also Solid Gold Holistic Blendz food is known not to contain a lot of the minerals that promote struvite crystals; the stones usually found in the bladder. Also I have heard of a product called Berry Balance that is said to promote a healthy ph balance in dogs and cats. I have not tried it, but have read about good results from other owners. This is all I can think of now, I hope this helps some. | |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Are these pees of normal size or small? If he is *also* drinking a lot more AND peeing in normal or large quanities of pee (rather than small puddles), then I really would get more testing done. Excessive drinking and peeing is one of the first reasons owners bring their pets in when they have Cushing's Disease...believe me...just went through it. I doubt it's that, but it is something to consider. It can also be a sign of Diabetes. Urinating Frequently (Polyuria) Can Be a Sign of Serious Disease in Pets
