Vomitting and worms, questions about shots. Hi, Paxton hasn't been feeling well.. a little after I got him he got worms, I have been doing everything that I can to get rid of them but its not working. Also recently he has been throwing up, I don't feed him anything different. He just does it every soo often.. and hes been kinda down lately. Also when are they suppose to have all these shots, I have never owned a puppy so I am not for sure exactly how all the vet stuff works, he had all his shots when I got him, but I never knew if I was suppose to take him to more or anything. If you could help me out in any way I would appreciate it! Thanks

He needs to see the vet asap. Get all his shots up to date, let them worm him and by all means put him on a good heart worm pill. I have used Interceptor for years and I think it is very good. The worms are probably what is keeping that baby sick. Please do something for him as quick as you can.

Poor baby! Sorry he's not feeling so great, but I agree he needs to get to the Vet ASAP. they have meds that can get rid of the worms. Hopefully that makes him better!

Hi How old is he? Also, don't let them give him tons of shots in one day. Space the shots out. they are tiny dogs so too much is not always good. How many times as he been wormed and when was the last time? I don't know the cost but if you space the shots apart, it might help with the finances. Carol and Jemma

| He shouldn't be vaccinated against anything until after he is dewormed, the vomiting is resolved and he is eating normally and feeling better. When he is better, make sure to at least get the Rabies vac separate from the DHPP ...no L or CV. But ask your vet which vaccs he recommends for the area in which you live, and your lifestyle. If you separate out further, you're increasing the expense, and sticking the pup with too many needles unnecessarily. You'd be giving him extra doses of the preservatives used in the vaccs and sometimes these are what cause the problems, not the usually killed viruses that stimulate the immune system to produce the antibodies against the diseases.

I still don't think a Yorkie should have too much all at one time.

Have your vet worm him first. I know it can be stressful to listen to so many people but there's lot's of experience here so I hope these answers are helpful. All puppies, most anyhow have worms. As long as the vet takes care of them nothing to worry about. Do this first then get the needed shots. This is why your puppy is throwing up. Worms can do that also cause diahrea. Please get this done asap. Poor puppy.
