| AB ointment wouldn't hurt, but keep checking the area daily, the swelling and redness should decrease over the next couple days. If it ends up looking worse, or you notice any rash, go to the vet.

| I always wash the area with hydrogen perioxide. Whenever Piper has had a tick removed the sore that is left behinds scabs quickly but she'll have a bump with the scab about the size of a pea for weeks. My male yorkie never had that kind of reaction. The sore scabbed, healed and that was it. There never was a bump left behind. My vet said that Piper gets an allergic reaction to the tick bite. I use frontline but ticks are still a big problem.
