| Bella is having surgery today... Well Bella is having her oral surgery today. I dropped her off at 8:15am and I have been crying every since! I hate her not being with me or at home safe in her bed and bundle of toys!!! They are taking her 4 baby canines out because they never fell out and her adult teeth came in and have pushed all of her teeth all over the place. Poor baby! I hope she does well and isn't in too much pain when she wakes up. They said if the teeth are really rooted in, they might have to take out BONE! Ahh! Has anybody else had this done? Please comfort me! Also, does anybody have pet insurance?!? How is it? I have spent $1400 in the last month and 1/2. $410 on her spay and its going to be a little over $1000 today! Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

| Awwww honey, I know how you feel. It's like handing over your soul when we have to take them in for surgery. Sophie had 4 taken out at the same time she was spayed (March 10th). She was on pain meds for about 3 days, but I believe that was more for the spay than the teeth. She had to eat soft food for about 1 week. Either canned or if she wanted her kibble the Vet said to add water so it softened it up. Other than that she did fine. But it's hard to leave them, isn't it? I stayed strong for Sophie but as soon as I walked out the Vet door, I cried my eyes out. She'll do fine and be back home with you soon enough. Did you ask the Vet to call you as soon as she's done? |

| Thank you both! They are supposed to call me once she is finished up yes. I called there at 1:20pm EST and they said she was currently in surgery! I am hoping she is out by now. They will probably call me when she starts to wake up so they can tell me how she is actually doing. At least that is what they did when she was spayed....HOLD ON THE VET IS CALLING!!!..... WAHOO! I just got off of the phone with Dr. Freeman! He said she did VERY well! He said it couldn't have went any better! They took out 5 teeth, one extra to make room for her teeth to be comfortable because her mouth is SO small!! He said she is just waking up and doing wonderful! I get to go pick her up at 4:30. He said she does have tiny little disolvable stiches in her mouth and he did "blocks" on all 4 of the areas, which is just like for humans, novicane. (i know I spelled that wrong!) I am so happy and I can't wait to go and get her!!! He said he will send her home with 2 or 3 days of pain medication, but its the meds that don't make her sleepy, so sort of like puppy tylenol! I am so happy I will have my baby girl back in 2 hours! YIPPIE!!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Great to hear Bella is out of surgery and soon will be home. Pixie had a cleaning and 5 adult teeth removed last summer and came home and started chewing on a hoove before I could stop her. She ate fine and by the next day back to her self. I do have pet insurance and it has really helped with Cali who has had a ton of expensesm the other 2 mainly I just have it for peace of mind if something happened. It did not cover the dental since I ddin't have the wellness plan. Just for a point of reference, Cali recently had 530.00 in vet bills for her HGE and VPI reimbursed me 399.00. The premium is 23.00 a month each.

| She is doing better! She isn't crying anymore, which is GREAT news. I think she is bored out of her mind b/c it hurts her mouth to play with her toys, so she just paces around! Skeeter (my rat terrier dog) started limping yesterday and i think he pulled a tendon in his foot, so its doggy hospital here at my house!!! She get another dose of pain medication at 6pm tonight. I am just hoping that she doesn't experience any pain as the medication wears off. She is now cuddling up next to me in her bright pink bed taking a little nappy poo! Night night Bella Baby! <3

| I just talked to her vet. I gave her her meds and she crys AFTER I give them to her. They are NOT helping her at all. She seems to be eating and drinking fine, so they told me not to give her anymore of the pain meds. I think she will do well without them though. She is playing with Skeeter and "daddy" now and having a blast!! I just love that my pretty girl is feeling better! <3
