My 2 LB. Yorkie fell!!!

I'm sorry that you are going through this. I know how you feel. My Missy did the exact same thing that McDreamy did, the result was a broken leg and a 3,500 dollar surgery. These tiny ones really are so very fragile, and accidents do happen.

My little Yudi fell today about 4 inches trying to wiggle out of someones in my family's arms and next thing i know she is on her right side of her body, still and her eyes just start going, and about 30 sec. later her body starts shaking. I started yelling her name out trying to help and suddenly she started to come too. Its Christmas and i am nothing is open. She seems back to herself after about 10 mins. she seems out of it but she is very aware of whats going on. She barks and wakes up if someone is in the room. I am going to run her by the vet tomorrow to make sure but i'm really worried.I don't know what i can do at the moment...

At 13 weeks and 1.6 lbs. my baby boy Bijou fell down my mom's spiral staircase...a drop of at least 12 feet! I heard his head hit the metal part of one of the steps. When I ran down the stairs I found him on the carpeted floor seizing! I picked him up and called the vet. It was Saturday and they were ready to close but they told me to bring him in. He had stopped seizing as soon as I picked him up but was still in a daze for a while. When we got to the vet he was shaking like he was scared, but no more dazed look or seizing. She checked him over, gave him some metacam and told me to take him home but call if there was ANY changes. He did fine. Five years later Bijou has no residual effects of his fall other than a fear of the spiral staircase at my mom's. I had never prayed so hard in my life...and I believe with all my heart that that is why my Bijou didn't have severe injuries or worse. Good luck with your baby!~Lauri
