| [QUOTE I took a tube sock and cut the band, and the toe part off of it to fit on her body. I just slid it down so it covered the incision...this way she couldn't lick it...it worked great! healed in no time[/QUOTE] GREAT idea! We are on the home stretch. It's been a little over a week and her incision still looks open in two areas. The rest has completely healed. Tried the onesie but it didn't work for her so had to go back to the cone. I'd like to try the sock trick tomorrow and get that cone of shame off for a while. She looks so uncomfortable in it and has to be giving her a cink in her neck while sleeping. Though she has been sleeping through the night. Sure am thankful this is a one time procedure. The healing process is almost harder on us cause we worry so much! |

| Ask your vet if you can dab a little betadine on her incision 2-3 times a day....that will help it dy out and heal....I am NOT a vet, just an RN with 40 years experience ...be sure to ask your vet for his OK first....I used betadine on all my babies incisions, and they healed up quickly with no problems.... |
