| Dewormer reaction? Hi folks, A couple hours after taking her dewormer pill (Virbantel 30 mg), London vomitted several times until her tummy was empty. She is about 3 years old, and this is my first time giving her a dewormer. Previous owner said she has been dewormed twice. Anyone seen this before? Any suggestions besides keeping an eye on her overnight? I left a message for the vet, should hear back tomorrow. I searched this forum for "Virbantel" and got zero results, and "dewormer" and found one relevant thread where someone posted a similar question, but no responses. Thanks for your help! | More details The dewormer was prescribed by the vet, although London displayed no signs or symptoms of worms. I think he said it was good to deworm periodically because stool tests are only around 80% accurate. He does not usually like to over-medicate, but this is the one thing he does recommend taking extra precautions on. |

| If her gums are pink just make sure she stays hydrated tonight. Anything other than pink and it is an emergency. There are lots of other dewormers to choose from next time. We only deworm if there is a need here and that has only happened once as a precaution.

| Thanks all! London is doing fine now. The Virbantel website said around 1% of dogs have side effects such as vomitting. |
