| Sick baby....help, please? We have a 13 wk old girl who usually is full of spunk and energy, but this afternoon she's been very subdued. She's thrown up frothy clear/yellowy bile. I know this can be a sign of hunger, but we can't get her to eat anything. She did drink a little water, but not much. What should I do? |

| She is vomiting the bile up because her tummy is empty. Please take her in to the vet. She is very, very young. ANd these little puppies have a high chance of dehydrating quickly. Do not wait. She needs medical care ASAP. At this age they can't go long without food and water. ANd can expire quickly. Please take her in to your vet. Right now.

| If she won't eat, she needs a vet soon. You don't want to risk her blood sugar falling. Have you tried nutri-cal?

| Vet is keeping our baby. She tested positive for Parvo, even though she has had two vaccinations for it. We are now going through and bleaching everything to kill any virus that might still be around. Keep her in your prayers please. |

Any idea where she got it? Had she been to grooming salons or pet stores? A member on another forum's puppy got it from his own backyard. It wasn't fenced and neighborhood dogs used it for a bathroom. Here is a good article that explains how puppies who have had vaccinations can still get parvo. At 13 weeks, she was probably only about 50% protected. Parvovirus: Serious Diarrhea in Puppies & Dogs

No, she hasn't been to any salons or pet stores....the only place she could have gotten it was from our own yard. The vet sent home enough vaccinations to do the rest of the litter and Lilah and Vader. Hopefully this will keep any of the others from getting sick. Thanks for all of your concern...we appreciate it!

| As of about 10 am she was still vomiting some, but not as much, and had a little diarrhea. They are still pushing fluids thru an IV. So far the other pups (and Lilah and Vader) seem ok. They're all playing and eating and drinking normally. I'm gonna call the vet in a little while and check on Kya again, then will update again |

| I am praying for your little puppy. I am very sorry it is parvo . Thankfully the other two pups are doing well. I am very glad you guys took your little pup in and got her started with treatment. The earlier the better with Parvo.
