| Maddie & Libby are both sick First, Libby started having strange episodes that was like she had something stuck in her throat. She would do that quite often and obviously was very distressed. I called this morn and of course, my vet is out of town, but got her in with another. Then, today, Maddie started having the same symptoms. I took Libby in and told my hubby I'd call if the vet wanted to see Maddie too and he could bring her up. The vet thinks it's kennel cough? Where in the world would they have caught that? They have been no where but here...it has been too cold to take them anywhere. Libby has a fever of 103.9, and she is pretty miserable. Maddie has gotten worse since this morning and they both sleep a lot. When reading about Kennel Cough, it said the dog stays pretty active, where Maddie and Libby aren't at all and not themselves. Whatever this is, it came on quickly. I almost wonder if they got sick from me. They are both on Clavamox for 14 days. I feel a little worried. I wish my vet was here.

| I'm sorry they are sick. Could it be tonsilitis? Dogs can catch it from people and they will cough and hack. I don't know if all vets think of tonsilitis. One of my friends digs gets it about once a year

Connie, by the time I noticed the light blinking on our answer machine it was too late to call you back gosh we are so sorry that Maddie and Libby are ill, please call anytime during the night if you need someone to talk with. Praying they are doing better now being on the meds. Baby Blessing was constantly with me during my bout with that horrible cold and pneumonia and she stayed okay. I wonder if they could have gotten it from being air borne when outside? Hugs, Patti and Jack | |

| Connie, a short while back all my babies were sick too. One of the dogs that I watch during the week brought it into our home and they all came down with what appeared to be a " cold". They had a low grade temp and they were constantly sneezing and hacking. I had the vet put them on the same antibiotics and it went away in about 10 days. Sure hope that Maddy and Libby feel better soon .... |

| Connie - so sorry both girls (and you) have been sick. I don't think they can contrac the actual bordatella from huamns but definitely they can catch an upper respiratory infection. Hope you all feel better real soon!!!!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | That sound like what Reese had...he was very very sick. Started acting like he didn't feel well...then the cough and a fever. I never received a definitive diagnosis. Be careful with the antibiotic...that made Reese aneroxic and just increased the problem. To help the congestion use a warm mist vaporizer with some vick's in it. That really seemed to help Reese feel and breathe must better. Hope they get well soon.

| Awww Maddie and Libby I sure hope you get to feeling better. I'm so sorry you are going through this. If they don't get better within a few days I'd take them back or call and see if your vet is in. I know how much confidence you have in him. I hope the meds don't make them sick and they will respond. Give them hugs from Bella and I. If you need anything let me know! Hope you feel better too! |
