I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() Generally they give you as much as you need in the bottle, in other words you take the whole bottle. Antibiotics don't store well either, and the properties change over time, and this is another reason they give you only what you need. Remember, you can save some drugs, such as pain medications for next time you are sick, but you can't save antibiotics, so use them all. I have never heard of an antibiotic be given, "until he's normal again," it makes me think that this wasn't an antibiotic, or you could have heard them wrong in all the excitement.
