Macy Coughing! =(

After looking through all her paperwork, they gave her a LEPTO shot when we were there. They have been bugging me to come back in for a 2nd one!? Isnt that the one that can make small dogs very sick!? I read something here about it, so i havent gone back to the vet yet..

Could that be what is making her cough!?

Lepto has been known to cause some bad reactions, but I've never heard of it causing coughing. Did she receive a bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine recently? That has been known to cause the disease

Yes, she had a full round of shots all at once The only reason i questioned the lepto was because i have heard so many bad things about it, and they still want to give her another... which doesnt make sense since she just got one!

Her coughing is SLOWLY getting better. We mostly see it at night time, when shes sleeping on me, she will actually get up and off of me, cough and hack, then come back and settle down. Its so sad.

I called the vet yesterday about her cough, and they said there was absolutely no way the vaccine could have caused it So, i am on a search for another vet. i wasnt to comfortable with that vet anyways.

I would suspect the bordetella vaccine. Did she get the intranasal or the injection form? I'm not sure about the injection but I know the intranasal can sometimes cause milder bordetella symptoms

Macy is no longer coughing!! Yay!! Shes doing great!

I am noticing when DH or i start sneezing, she does too! Terrible Texas allergies! Is there anything i can give her for allergies?
