| A note from TJ: Mom came home yesterday and called my Houdini because I managed to get out of the gauze-sling-cast that she made for me to wear when no one was home....so she made a straight jacket for me today |

| Yippee!!! When I logged on tonight I thought...hmmm...wonder if TJ's pathology results are back yet...so I immediately went to his other thread and found this!!! I have been so scared for you and TJ...I prayed so hard for good results...thank goodness...benign...that is just what I was hoping to hear. Now, TJ...you must let this heal...no more licking, okay? That's a deal!!! He sure does look cute, even in the straight jacket. Did the vet say how long he'd have to keep it bandaged...or does it just depend on how fast he allows it to heal? What a brave little guy you are TJ...be good for your mom...she knows what's best for you...as mom's always do!!!

No matter what I do, he manages to get it off and lick! We had 2 good days of lick free, which was Weds and Thrs....and I thought it was finally healing, but last night he had a lick fest in the middle of the night. It is red, hot and swollen It doesn't look infected, so I am hoping that if I can somehow figure out how to make something for him not to get out of, and if remains lick free it can heal ok. We go to the Vet on Friday at 6:15 pm to remove the stitches, so I have about 7 more days to accomplish this I think I need the prayers now, as he is driving me crazy with his OCD lick obsession...Oh, and I guess even when the stitches come out, his "wanting to lick" will continue for a while too Last edited by TLC; 02-28-2009 at 09:45 AM. | |

| Oh my goodness...What to do??? Was the first picture a baby onesie, with the attached "mitten"? Maybe if you sewed the opening up, he wouldn't be able to get to it. The only way I can get Winston to stop his compulsive licking, is by drawing his attention elsewhere. But how can you do that 24/7? Maybe once the stitches are out, he won't be so compelled to lick...you know how a healing wound itches??? I'll keep you in my prayers...may God give you strength and wisdom to outsmart TJ!!!

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | if his licking is that bad then he's just going to have to wear an e-collar. its the only way to prevent him from getting to that area.

| I thought about an e-collar as well, but I was afraid he'd still be able to reach his paw...must need a large collar.
