| CeCe has HGE!!! We had to bring CeCe back to the vet today for a second round of SQ fluids. Our vet gave a definite diagnosis of HGE. She received more antibiotics, antiacid and anti-diarrhea med via injections and was sent home to rest. She is a very, very sick baby. Please keep her and Sasha (who lost her sister,Coco in June) in your prayers.

| When she perks up a little see if you can feed her and water. They need to be eating and drinking so they wont dehydrate. Feed her something bland... |

| Lady has had HGE three times. Did your vet tell you what CeCe's packed volume was? Subq fluids generally aren't enough unless her packed volume was borderline HGE. Most times they need to be hospitalized and given IV fluids. Here are a couple of articles on HGE: Canine Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis (HGE) ~ Pawprints and Purrs, Inc. Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis (HGE) |

| Pee-Nut has HGE too and he was put on science diet when he was allowed to eat. He was not interested in it so the vet said I could give him boiled chicken and ricre. I hand fed him pieces of boiled chicken as he really wasnt interested in eating and finally he took it. Little by little as time went on he gained his appetite. He is on antibiotics for 7 days. It is so hard to see them so sick, my heart and prayers go out to you. |

What has been your experience with recovery time? BTW, don't you have a baby with Liver Shunt also, or am I confusing you with someone else on YT?
