| *** Help!!*** Hi Everyone I am a non frequent poster but I have run into a, what might be, a problem with my little Tucker man. He just turned 3 years on on Jan 25th but right around 2nd week of January he developed 3 dime sized blackish spots on his belly surrounding his penis. To me, they look like bruises?? but I believe those would be gone by now, almost 1 month later. They are still there and have not faded. Do Yorkies tend to get age spots or color changes in skin as they age? Anyone with this same issue? I am worried, like maybe its cancer...or something TERRIBLE. I will be calling my vet in the AM to see if he can give me an idea but I would appreciate any input here as well..thank you so much! Last edited by YorkieKrazed; 02-17-2009 at 08:23 PM. |

| Hi and I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you as I've never had experience with this. Will bump this up so maybe someone who can help you will see it. Good luck!!!

| Any change in pigment should be checked out by your vet. Bruising can be a symptom of lepto, but he would have other symptoms and be acting sick. Let us know what your vet says. |

| What did your vet say about the spots? I have a 4 year old female that has started having a dark pigment on her tummy and looks like she has bruises all over her little body. The dermatologist has checked her for parasites (there were none) and is now discussing allergies. Has anyone ever seen allergies that look like bruises? She is acting normal in every other way and her blood work came back good. I am very concerned about her. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would have them checked out, but most likely it will be nothing to worry about. Many dogs get black spots/discolorations on their bellies so hopefully it's just that. Keep us posted. Also, maybe you want to post a picture of it..?
