I just dropped her off at her vet to get an enema....sobbing, she looked at me like "why are you leaving me" I just want her back and healthy  Her vet was going to refer me to someone, but it turns out the other surgeon is renowned and board ceritified and a specialist in orthopedics in small animals (aka my Mya) He is either going to fit her in for later this afternoon or tomorrow morning. I just want the healing process to begin  my poor baby |
awww.....i know you must be scared to death....try to hang in there...i will keep her in my prayers.. |
Oh I'm so sorry! Please know she and you will be in my prayers. Keep us posted.:animal-pa |

That is good news. Sending prayer's for your little Mya and wishing her good luck with her surgery and a very speedy recovery. Hugs, |
Just dropped her off, had to drive 30 minutes, but so worth it....the doctor seemed so nice and knowledgable...he was even able to answer all 100 of my questions and concerns... sigh I know she is gonna look so pitiful, but i just want to see that little button nose again:( |
Lauren, Please know, she's in all our thoughts and we're all sending you both well wishes and hugs. Keep us updated when you can. Good Luck little one. ;)Love, Aiden, Pongo, Harley, and their Mommy Melissa:animal-pa |
Thank you so much Melissa, and everyone else sending their thoughts. I don't know what I would've done with out YT last night. I was up all night, literally, researching this type of surgery/condition, and the doctor doing it etc etc...and YT gave me SUCH a good feeling about it after having read everyone's stories, i didn't hear one negative result from FHO. So thank you YT for being my shoulder to cry on and my glimpse of hope and a healthy future. |
I'm so sorry you are going through this... and your poor little one. Don't you wish you could take the pain for her. I know you'll spoil her even more when she comes home. Keep us posted and know you both are in our prayers... |
Just got a call, she did great and is in recovery. PHEW. I know this is gonna be harder on me than her. Question: She loves to follow me everywhere...how do i prevent her from always trying to get up and walk for 10 days?? Pick her up and bring her with me??? |
I'm so glad to hear her surgery went well. Maybe you could try one of those sling carriers that go around the neck? They remind me of little papoose's but they look comfy and she could be cuddled next to you wherever you go. I don't think they're very expensive and a lot of pet stores carry them. |
So glad to hear Mya made it through surgery OK. It is so hard when our babies are hurting. We just want to make it better NOW. |
I just went through something similar with Missy, only it was her knee that was fractured. I have her confined in an ex-pen right by computer, and when she's not in there I am holding her. I can't even give her access to just the livingroom because she doesn't know how to walk (only sprint and do jumping jacks). :p I'm glad your baby is all fixed up and on her way to healing. |
I'm so sorry tha Mya has fractured her hip. She was running and fractured her hip? About 6 weeks ago Piper who was 8 months started to limp a little. After about a week I brought her to the vets and they x-rayed her hip. It was fractured. The ball of the femur had a crack all around it and there was a floating bone chip. That type of fracture could be from trauma or Legg Perthes Disease. I know for a fact that Piper did not hurt herself because she is watched 24/7 and there was no injury. Piper had hip surgery on December 29. I don't know , but I don't think a 9 month old puppy's hip should fracture from running across the yard. Puppies are suppose to run, jump and play without their bones breaking. |
1 Attachment(s) My poor baby :( she is all drugged up...it is a huge incision, I tried putting her in her crate but she just wasn\'t having it, she just stood there :( so I just layed her on the couch next to me :( I don\'t know what I\'m gonna do about sleeping tonight...she seems to want to be by my side sigh. |
