| Help! My Yorkie can't stand on his right back leg~~ It just happens at a sudden. I think it is not wrong with his knee but his hip, he tries to bite me when I touch it. Now he is walking with his 3 other legs. How poor! I am going to take him to the clinic today. Anyone has a clue? What might the problem be? |

| Not sure what your little guy's problem is, but taking him to the vet is the right thing to do. Rebel tore a ligament when he was 8 months old and ended up having surgery to repair it and luxated patella at the same time. Praying for your baby.............Please update when you can.

| Milo has shallow hip sockets and had one hip surgury so far. I noticed it when all of a sudden he would be standing and his leg would be lifted off the floor, otherwise he would be fine running playing jumping. They tell me the other hip may need to be done and may not. Your Yorkie seems to to be showing signs of pain. I would get your dog to the Vet ASAP so at least you can relieve the pain. Your vet will be able to diaagnoss and give you your best course of action. Good Luck |

| You've already gotten good advice but let me add - please keep him from jumping until you know what's wrong.

| Thanks guys. Got back from the clinic. It seems luxated patella after examination. Had him one shot and one pill. A surgery will be on schedule if he is not recovering tomorrow. Sad. |

| So sorry you are going throught this I know how scarey this can be, but please be assured that when all is said and done your puppy will be able to to everything it was doing before and more. Puppies are very resiliant. |

| Torn ACL Sorry to hear about your dog. My male yorkie (9 years old) has a torn acl and knee out of socket. The vet says he needs to have surgery. He has been standing on his leg and walking okay and doesn't act like he hurts. I want to do what is best for him but I don't really have the money for the surgery right now. My husband has had 2 major surgeries in the past 6 months. He hurt his leg once before and it got better on its own but I don't want to cause him to be in any pain. It is hard to keep him from jumping up and down off the furniture and stay off his leg. Any suggestions about what I need to do?

| It seems we are going to have a surgery on his right back leg. However, I am wondering whether we should wait when he is 1 year old. The vet suggests doing the surgery at his 9 month old. Any one had the same situation before? |

| Try doing a search for LP on here and on the internet before you do the surgery. It really pays to be informed. Vets are good but unless they specialize in toy breeds they're generalizing what's good for all breeds. Let us know what happens, ok?
