| Update Lida is still hanging in there. The vet decided to xray her even though he couldn't feel anything and she didn't act like she had a a blockage, and he found a penny in her small intestine. Apparently it was laying flat and would flap to allow stuff through so that's why it was confusing. He did surgery and took it out and she is doing a little better but still won't eat. I'm going up a little later and spend some time with her to see if I can get her to eat. We had been forcing fluids, pedialyte and nutrical, gatorade and water and that's what kept her going. Yesterday she was better when we went to see her, she was weak and wobbly but responded to me with kisses and took water off my finger, something she wasn't doing when we took her in. This morning the vet said she looked better, not as wobbly and weak but she still wouldn't eat and as soon as she does she can come home. Everything else is good, strong little heart, coloring fine, no temp ever, blood work good, liver good, and so on. I love my vet, he is a fine man, checked on her 3 to 4 times a day this weekend and called us everytime with an update, worried so much about her and was amazed that she could have managed to swallow a penny, don't know where she got it but I've scoured my house for any other loose change and haven't found any. Thanks for everything, I'll keep you updated when I can, I've been running back and forth with Mom and Dad. Tomorrow they are doing a breat biopsy on my mother and Wednesday a lung biopsy, because they have to keep her blood thin because of her heart valve, she had to stay in the hospital where they can thicken it long enought to do the tests and then get it thin again so it doesn't get too thick to pass through her mechanical valve, it's complicated for her to get anything done. I'll keep you updated until my baby is home again.

| Thanks everyone. This will be my last post on YT, I will keep Julz informed on Lida Rose if anyone is interested and will check my pms, but I won't be posting or reading threads anymore. If I don't leave it alone I'll end up getting kicked off and I don't want that to happen.

| Oh...wow...I am so glad they discovered the problem...we were all so worried ...and what a great warning for all of us to be able to prevent a similar problem for another yorkie. Thanks for letting us know. My mother has an artificial valve in her heart too and is on a blood thinner so I know how risky it is to do any invasive procedure. I hope the biopsies are negative and she is better very soon. |

| I am so happy that the vet found the problem. It will take several hours for her intestines to tell her tummy it is okay to send something thru to them. My vet calls it the gut-to-stomach communication. I always take some chopped chicken breast in for mine to eat from my hand.. I so hope she is better by the time you read this. I am not sure why you feel you must leave this but please ask Julz to keep us up-dated.. |

| I hope that your Lida Rose is getting stonger and building up an appetite. I know you mentioned in your earlier post that you wont be checking YT for awhile but all the "get well wishes" to your fur baby will be here when you get back. Also thoughts go your way as these are stressful times for you with your Mother.
