| dark tar poopy yesterday and today princes poop has been very dark.. not black when looked at under light but almost black.. and theres lots of hair in it..sounds weird i know.. should i be worried? oh and he was on panacur for 3 days, yesterday was his last day could that effect the color of his poop? thanks |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would be very worried. Dark, tarry stools can mean blood from deeper within the system - and that's a real concern. Whereas "fresh" red blood is from closer to the rectum, which is usually less of concern, if isolated. I would get your pup in asap.

I have seen strands in my doggie's poop at times. Nothing to worry about. What goeds in needs to come out. The black color is something of concern.

| no it was fine, i brought the dark poo to the vet and he checked it out. he said he is a little irritated but theres no blood there..and his poo has been normal ever since. thanks again |
