That sounds like a good plan. I'm glad you have a friend who is a vet tech. Keep us posted on how he's doing. |
hey my dogs didnt like the thrive so much maybe try the embark (the honest kitchen) i say anythings worth a try right now. use a 1/4 cup for now and add a little over 1/4th water |
i would like to try the embark but i am going to have to wait for the samples i requested. i cant just keep buying boxes of food for him to try and most likely refuse. especially bc these are so expensive. me and my bf were going over bills and wuld u believe that we spent over 500 in dog food and over 3000 in vet bills and 1600 for the dog in the last month:eek: hes lucky we love him so much. ;) i am a little more hopeful with this plan hes sorta catching on.. when i put the food down he nows smells it,licks a little plays with it and looks at me like"im supposed to eat this i know" but his 20minutes is almost up as i type and im going to have to syringe feed him soon:( my bf is sleeping and its so hard to do it alone, boo =( |
last night as me & my bf lay in bed we thought, what did we do wrong? why does our dog not want to eat? how this happen in the last week? why do we have to syringe feed our dog who used to eat so well? is this normal? has anyone else had the same experience? |

Melissa, this is only a thought but how about yet another opinion. No dog wants to starve it's self. It dosen't make sence why Princton dosen't want to eat unless he feels sick when he does. I don't know how else to help. Sending more prayer's for your guys. Princeton EAT! |
we had a break through!! thank you jesus!!!! lol not a big one but ill take anything at this point.. so in the above post i said time was almost up and i was going to syringe well i sat down infront of him and he saw the puree mix that i make and the syringe and he started eating his dry!! can u believe he ate like 6 whole pieces!! loll and even drank a little water hes not sick, he never refuses cheerios or yogurt, or treats..he is just stubborn. i bought him the bully stick yesterday wen i picked up the honest kitchen and he does love ittt, he wont put the thing down lol |
Hip Hip Hooray for Princeton. That is good news Melissa. |
thank you so much for sticking with me, hopefully this keeps up and he will eat more and more each day! your so kind =) |
I just read your whole thead and wanted you to know iam praying for your babie :hands::goodluck: hope he starts eating and feeling better very soon :) |
Thank God! I'm so glad he's starting to eat. Six pieces of kibble is a great start!!! I'll keep praying for him. Come on, Prince! You can do it!!! |
I tend to agree, he's being stubborn and seeing just how far he can push you to give him treats. If he were too sick to eat he would not eat those either. Keep up with the "tough love" for a bit longer...I'm hoping and praying he will start to eat "his" food and eat it well. You can do this, it's for his own good, really. |
we are still on our little schedule, he still doesnt eat his food.. i am still syringe feeding him every few hours.. he has become much more comfortable with the syringe he just sits there and takes it now.. imagine he starts to like getting syringe fed:eek: i dont know what i would do.. our house has been a lot less hectic.. im just praying he will catchn on sooner then later. :) |
Hmmmm, these are mighty smart little creatures...what do you think he's thinking? Maybe try going a little longer between feedings...just to see if he actually gets hungry enough to eat on his own, but don't wait too long, don't want to risk a hypoglycemic reaction. Come on Princeton...eat for your mom! |
I sent you a PM! |
