Thank you. I never thought we would ever have to deal with something like this. Hopefully there isn't a next time, but if so we will know exactly what to do. From all of your responses, I guess we did pretty good. This makes us feel better, but then again it is our fault too and should of never happened. |

I catch myself doing the shuffle with my feet when I walk too. I cried when I took Mia to get spayed because I didn't want her to have a bad reaction to the anesthesia. I put it off until Mia was 3 yrs old!! I was very scared!! She is a 7 pounder so she is pretty tough, but I was still very scared. Make sure you have them do the test before the actual spay to make she she isn't allergic. I am sure you know about this though. I pray that it will go perfectly as planned for you. Mia has been sniffing all over the bed(our king size bed that we all sleep in), like she was looking for Giavanna. Mia was also letting out sighs or like little whimpers. Mia is not a verbal yorkie at all. She just seems very sad. Then she was taking Giavanna's toys and putting them on my husbands lap and nudging his hand. Mia seen everything that happened to Gia and when we rushed Giavanna to the emergency Mia came with us too. I think she knew what was going on with her baby sister:( Mia was happy to see Gia tonight and she was sniffing her all over. I bet she was thinking where have you been?? I was worried sick about you:animal36 Dont you ever scare us like that again:eek: |
*****Giavanna's Monday Update***** The vet called me and he said that Giavanna is still getting better and can be picked up any time. I am going to get her right now!! I will still keep you all updated on her improvements. What a relief I feel. I thank GOD! :D |
I am so happy to hear you are picking her up!!!!! I have been worrying about her ever since I read your thread. She will continue to improve at home with all your tender loving care. |
I am so happy Gia is coming home ! She is going to keep getting better at home with you and your husbands TLC. :D |
Giavanna Gabbana . . She is doing better. To me, her swaying to the side when she walks has gotten less noticeable, I think because she isn't in a crate and can walk around. She has been sleeping, eating, and taking potty breaks all day. She hasn't played though. She needs to sleep to get rest so her body can heal itself. What a MIRACLE that she is still alive!!!!!!! I honestly don't think I could have forgiven my husband if she would of passed. We have a great marriage but it just would of hurt me too bad. I would of had resentment towards him. I wanted to yell at him. I was so hurt, but I couldn't because I know and seen how bad he felt. It was an unfortunate accident. Sounds mean, like I said though, she is my baby and Mia too. |
Glad to hear she is improving, I know it is hard not to be mad at your husband but accidents happen. |
We went through a similar experience with Adie a few weeks ago. It is terrifying to think that we almost lost her. Thank god dh did rescue breaths like you did. You and your little one are in my prayers. |

Does the doctor know exactly what happened? Was it a seizure? It sounded like it was unclear, and that DH may not have even stepped on her. If he did, know this can and does happen to everyone. No matter how careful we try to be, things can happen. And things even happen that are not caused by us. Just last Monday, my DH was sitting in the den reading the paper. Lexi was in her bed right next to the couch. All of a sudden, a really loud noise came from the dishwasher. It made my husband jump up and run into the kitchen. When he turned around, he saw Lexi lying on the floor. Apparently the noise made her jump, too, and she landed funny. She was limping and couldn't take more than 3 steps. The vet said to let her rest, and she would probably walk it off. When I called home at lunchtime, she was walking, but with a limp. By the time I got home from work, her limp was gone. It was such a freak thing, and it wasn't caused by anyone.... Give Gia a hug from Lexi! (And Mia too.) :) |

Awww that is weird about the dishwasher:confused: I will give them both hugs!!! ;) Gia won't eat her regular food only treats. I had my dh go to the grocery store and get her some amish chicken. I just grilled it and boiled some carrots and gave them fresh strawberries. Gia would only eat the chicken breast. She is a picky eater anyways. She ate about 1/4 of a chicken breast. We keep feeding her every time she walks up and goes to drink water, since she doesn't want the soft or hard dog food. She is laying down again now. |

Wow . . I am sorry to hear that. It was my worst nightmare. Thank you for the prayers. |
Also the final diagnosis was head trauma. I hope she recovers all the way.:( |
On Wednesday I have 2 classes that start. I have to leave at 10:30 am. My classes end at 4:40 pm. My husband may or may not be home before me. I was thinking of buying a pet pen to put her in instead of her cage. I was also thinking of just canceling the classes. What do you think I should do???? I personally don't want her to be left alone at all. I honestly don't think my class will end at 4:40 pm, but I am not sure. |
Should I buy this to keep Giavanna in???? Iris Plastic Pet Exercise Pen 63 x 63 x 34 - Dog.com Does anyone know if this product is safe??? |
