heatherlee143 | 01-11-2009 06:58 PM | *****giavanna update***** We just came home from seeing Giavanna at the emergency vet and we brought Mia with us to see Gia's response to her. GIA IS MUCH MUCH BETTER!!!! I am thanking my lucky stars and all of you for your kind words and prayers. Thank you for helping me through this as I have been a lunatic for the last 2 days!!! Also the wonderful male Dr. who treated Gia.
As soon as the Dr. brought Gia in the room she pepped right up when she seen Mia, our other yorkie. Gia was actually sitting up, wrapped in a towel. Gia had just taken a bath. The Dr. put Gia on the floor and she ran over to Mia and they kissed and sniffed each other. Mia has been looking for Gia :(
As soon as my husband and I seen how well Gia was, my husband burst into tears. I have seen him cry maybe 3 times. My husband told me he prayed to God that if he made Giavanna better that he promised he would do something good. WE ARE NOT HOLY ROLLERS!! This has just been a real wake up for us. Gia is not walking normal though, she walks to the right and her head was a little tilted, but she can stand. During our visit her tilted head seemed to get better. I know she is way better than she was this morning. The Dr. now said this should go away and you won't even be able to tell anything happened to her. No brain damage or broken bones. The Dr. said if we wanted we could take her home, but right away my husband said no. Which I agreed she should stay one more night, just to be safe. I am a stay at home wife so I can pay very close attention to her but would not take any risks just to be safe. We will be bringing her home tomorrow as long as she is still doing good. I brought her from home 2 types of organic treats, nutrical, and two types of her Halo food soft & hard. She had just ate again before we came there to visit her. She wouldn't eat any of her food from us but she did eat TONS of treats and nutrical that we brought her. Then she pooped and pee'd :D
All together we paid almost $1400 for this very sad incident. We would have paid what ever to save her life though, she is priceless to us. I feel bad for the people who cannot afford this when these things happen to their pets.
From this situation, I have learned that from now on, no matter if it's night or day, if a room that we're in is dark, the lights will be on!!!!!!!!!! This way everyone can see each other and there are no accidents. I also now have 2 emergency vets programed into my husbands and my cell phone. I am also considering to switching from a medical career to a career helping animals. I feel very blessed and thankful that Gia is much better tonight. The last 2 days my husband and I have read some horror stories on here about this same thing happening to other babies, that didn't make it. I guess I was preparing myself for the worst. We must have someone watching over us. My husband blessed Giavanna tonight with holy water before we left her for the night at the vet. I feel much better and know she will be alright now.
Thank you so much everyone. |
