| Kennel Cough I bought my lil guy from a pet store. They day got him he was coughing and reverse sneezing....So the pet shop gave me medicine, but after 3 weeks took him to vet since it was not helping at all..The first vet had him on antibiotics for 2 weeks it was pink liquid....So after 2 weeks she told me to go to a specialist and that it was going 2 run me for 1,000 that was to much....She also did x-ray and found nothing wrong with him as far as lungs and trachea....Heart was 2 big for him thats all she said..He was doing way better with the vets medicine, but still cough... I got a second opinion 2 weeks ago because I did not want to take him 2 a specialist....The second vet checked out the x-ray and said nothing was wrong with him....He gave me medicine for the cough geradrops and gave him a shoot of antibiotics.......He is not coughing as much as when I brought him home from pet shop, but still does cough...Way way less...and also has reverse sneezing.....I took him yesterday to the vet for a follow up...And I told the vet that he is not coughing as much as when I brought him home from pet shop, but still is coughing...HE said to take him back next month...He said to much medicine and antibiotics is no good for him and he has been taking stuff for about 2 monts now....So I bought a vicks humidifier and its cold mist....So I am going to change it because with that my little guy started to cough alot with it I noticed that this morning.......I just got it 2 days ago...I saw another model that its warm mist...So I will pick that one up 2day.... any advize at alll....it will help out...he is plays the same and eats well.... |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | So he does or does not have a cough medicine? Many times the vet will tell you to purchase an otc cough medicine...unfortunately I can't remember which one....so you may want to call them and ask. I do know...sometimes it takes a long long time for the cough to disappear.

| aww poor guy. Layla had kennel cough. our vet did not want us to give her OTC cough syrup but i found that using a hot air humidifier by her crate at night really helped with the coughing but it did last over a month. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Okay...cough syrup.... Until you get a steam humidifier...you can turn your shower on hot...allow the room to steam up and take him inside for about 20 minutes. The steam is what helps break up the congestion. A teaspoon of honey will sooth his irritated throat. Other than that...you just have to wait it out unfortunately.

| Adding, to my many reasons, NOT to buy from a pet shop Are you guys talking about giving him human cough syrup?
