| Not an emergency My female lost her milk but she had 3 girls. Lost one within 24 hours lost the next one after 4 days and this one, the biggest started to lose weight and I took over feeding her. Mama had milk when the other two died. She is a little piggy, in 3 days she has gone from thin, not skinny, to a fat, sassy looking little thing. Puppys usually nurse as long as they want to, well, I let her nurse on the bottle as much as she wants to and this afternoon she nursed so much that she almost threw up. How much should I let her have? Since she still trys to nurse her mama, I only feed her every 4 hours or so to try to encourage her to nurse her mama between times. I read or heard somewhere that it is important for them to suckle. Thanks, Sylvia |
