| 13 days old puppy cant breathe good. please help me Hi. im new in this forum, I have seen it before but never posted anything here, and my main language isnt english. Anyway, my female yorkie had puppies 13 days ago, 4 male puppies, but one of them died when he born. There was one that born smaller than the other 2, and when days was passing, he didnt grow like the others and their diference in size is huge now. Im very sad because we wanna keep this puppy, we even got a name for him, and even when he ate, his weight was really low. Right now, he has his nose closed with some goo (he didnt have this before) and he cant breath with his nose, he breaths with his mouth and slowly, dosnt move like before, and dosnt wanna eat. Please help me, only thing vet said when she saw him is that he is underweighted, but i dont think is normal. I will post a pic so you can see the diference between he and his brothers. I will really really really apreciate any help or advice you can give me. Even when he is just 13 days old we already love him, because he is just unusual and cute. Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry you are having problems. I would get him to another vet, sounds like he needs help fast. Hopefully some of the breeders on here will see this.

| Honey - That pup is VERY small. And I am really worried for you and him....He may be sick and if he is not eating on his own, you could loose him. I really think you need to find another Vet I will post this in the breeder section and hopefully someone with experience can help you |

No Longer a Member | It sounds and looks like Fading Puppy syndrome, I'd take to the vet to be sure. Heres some reading on it at this site. Fading Puppy Syndrome |

| That sounds like pneumonia or infection...you need to get the puppy to the vet ASAP. Are you supplementing his feedings at all? |

| I'm sorry to hear that your puppy passed. Do you have a special place you can bury him? When my daughter in law's Mom lost their dog they burried him in the back yard and planted a yellow rose bush over his grave. |

| Yes i will do that, we wanna remember him. i was reading what Breezeaway posted of Fading Puppy Syndrome, and is what happened... He cried a lot and started losing weight from third day. He didnt even have muscles, her ribs could be touched easily and was a huge diference from his brothers. Is a miracle he lasted so long, i wish he didnt die, but i have the hope that we will have more and healthy ones. Thank you |

| It is hard, i have been all day crying and feeling horrible, even when it may seem stupid for some people to feel so bad for a 13 days old puppy. is that i still think i could have done more in time, and i saw him die and not been able to breathe, and trying to ressurrect him... is just horrible. Thanks for your words, you know the way i feel because you love your dogs also. |
