Donating YT 500 Club Member | Yes, I believe it is normal. I know Ruby's did swell with her one and only heat cycle, and it took a little while for them to return to normal size.

| So you let her come in heat one time and then had her fixed? I think I may do the same, I just fear the thoughts of something going wrong when I have it done.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | It would be a good idea to have her spayed if your not a breeder. That way you can avoid any accidental pregnancies, false pregnancies and cancers that can come up.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I agree! And, I shouldn't have waited. I was concerned because of her tiny size at the time, just barely 3 lbs. I realize now, I shouldn't have been so worried and wouldn't hesitate to have one that size spayed now,

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Roxie's swelled up when she went into heat, then she had a false pregnancy and then she was spayed a few months ago and they are still swollen. I keep wondering when they will go down. None of my others had that.

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | Bella had her first heat cycle. Hers were swollen for a very long time. Her skin also turned a little darker around them? I was very concerned & the Vet said she was probably going through a false pregnancy. The Vet also had me worried because he said that sometimes they will remain larger with each heat cycle. But, thankfully that was not the case. She was spayed afterwards and is now back to normal. Good Luck with your little girl!!
