I'm so sorry, Carol, what a lousy way to start the day for you and Buddy. Those doors in the wind are scary and dangerous, the way they slam so quickly.....it's happened here before too, thankfully no legs in the way! I'll just about bet he is okay, especially since he recovered so quickly. I'll be thinking of you all today and hoping everything is fine when you get home.

Sometimes, I think it would be so cool if they could talk....other times, I'm kind of glad they can't - no telling what they may say

Maybe a webcam is what you need, you could at least check in on him that way?

Oh, Carol, I can imagine just how scared you must have been when that happened. I'm betting he won't have any problems at all. If it would have done anything, I would think it would be evident immediately. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. Take care. Hugs to Buddy.

I think I would have washed his mouth out with soap and water this
morning with what I think he said to me after being hit with the door.
I do know it wasn't thank you.

Webcams are amazing I know. If I had one I would never get any
work done in this office. Between YT and the webcam there would
be no time to work.

That was my first thought. He would have shown signs immediately.

The winds weren't bad at 6 so when I went back out at 8 I never
expected the darn door to come back at us. I was rushing as usual.
No matter how much I work with him NOT to go threw the door before
me he does anyhow when I'm not paying attention.
Thanks Gina, hugs and kisses he will get for sure when I get home.
The winds are sooooooooooo bad. My office sits on the Hudson River
and it looks like a hurricane out there.

Poor thing. It probably hurt you more...I'm sure he's o.k. I did it last week to my nieces little pup. One minute he's in the kitchen I go outside to give the older dog a treat and shut her lb body in between the door and the wall. I truly thought she was in the kitchen..little girl is fast!!! Anyways she yelled SO loud I thought I'd pass out. This puppy is my niece Summer's whole world. (she battling Leukemia AND THIS PUP IS THE BEST MEDICINE)

Thank god she was fine,but I thought with a cry that loud something has to be broken. I feel for you both. I'm glad in that Aiden is a larger Yorkie, I'm intimidated by the wee ones

Hopefully the scream and reaction was just that, reaction.
I am glad your niece's pup was ok after your incident.
I will keep your neice in my prayer's for a recovery.
Love the name Summer, so pretty. Yes, dogs have healing
power's. I am sure he brings her much comfort and gives
her added strength to get well.

awww poor Buddy! His reaction was that of an animal just stunned and shocked by pain... like a fight or flight reaction and most animal chose to fight. I'm sure he was not mad at you, just first instinct to attack the first thing near him when he is such pain. I am glad to hear he seemed ok though! Poor little guy! Now... are YOU ok? sometimes i swear it takes us down more than it takes them down! They are recovered, eating and playing while our hearts are still pounding in our chests like crazy! haha My fingers are crossed that you come home to a happy, non-limping pup!

That must have been so scary! We had an instance with Chip one time that scared the crap out of me... cousin was holding Chip and Chip was wiggling and fell out of his hands and dropped on his left back leg right on concrete from probably about 4 1/2 feet off the ground. He couldn't walk at all and was yelping from pain. He would try to stand up, but would fall over. I was certain it was broken, ran upstairs with him in my arms, and by the time I got upstairs... he was fine...

Your baby probably was just reacting to the door wack but I'd watch it with him jumping off of furniture for a few days...just to be safe.
