| Talk about BAD weekends!! Just thought I would share our emergency crisis that we had last weekend. It all started when we arrived home we noticed our Dakota (large mix) acting wobbly, severly shaking and drooling like crazy.. We thought she was having a seizure or something.. So we raced like the wind to our Vet..on a saturday..thank GOD he comes in for his patients...well when we got there he did blood work, started an IV and then gave her other meds...come to find out she had gotten into some very moldy trash (we store it in a shed and monthly take it to the dump..the door somehow had been left open..perfect opportunity for naughty dogs to get into trouble..) and so she had in effect gotten poisoned from the debris she ingested. Had we not found her she most certainly would have died!! No sooner than we got home we noticed our kids golden retriever (he had been visiting) acting the same way....so we raced him back to the vet to get charcoal in his stomach as well as fluids and anti biotics... Well on our way to a friends house....thinking that the worst was behind us....when my husband calls to say "your not going to believe this but Izzy..our border collie had just vomited and Daizy (our yorkie,..yes I have one in this group) had gotten into Izzy's vomit"..(totally disgusting I know) SOOOOOOOOOOOO we called the vet once again...this times he's like "oK do you have any horses or cats or any other animals that might be getting sick too...lol) all we could do at that point was laugh...sooooooooo away we go BACK to the vets office to have Izzy treated and Daizy's stomach emptied..(fun fun) it was quite a LONG day and THANK GOD it ended with ALL our babies fully recovered and well!

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Wow! That had to be traumatic. It pains me when ONE of mine get sick, but to have all of them get sick at the same time must have been a nightmare. I'm glad you got them to the vet so quickly. Nice job! Your pack will be back to normal in no time.
