| She swallowed both ends of a pencil. I just found the remains of a pencil. Chloe chewed and swallowed both ends including the eraser. Do you think I should be worried? I'm not sure whether to take her to the vet. |

| please call the vet ASAP. another YT member lost a pet who swallowed parts of a pencil. i don't recall the details and don't mean to scare you, but I would definitely err on the side of caution and at least call. has chloe been acting totally normally? please keep us posted

| I hope you decided to call the vet! It's always better to be safe than sorry.

| My dog did a similar thing with one of my chunky eyeliner pencils that must've rolled off my dresser. I didn't call the vet right away, just watched her really carefully that whole day and she was fine. Had some interesting poops for a day but she didn't seem phased. I'd say to just keep an eye on her and if something seems off then you can take her in. i know lots of people on here who have dogs that eat twigs, sticks, etc. I know its not the best for them but their digestive systems are different than ours and they can sometimes handle it. Hope this helps! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | You should call the vet regarding chances of lead poisoning - you may need to go in asap.

| Hi, I hope all is well with your baby. I'm the one whose baby died after ingesting pieces of a colored pencil. We didn't know what was wrong with her at first, until I found the chewed up pencil under my bed. At least you're aware of the situation, and that will help because you know what to watch for (no poop or watery poo, not eating, etc.) If you want to read our whole story, it's on here somewhere Please let us know how she is
