| 9mo old yorkie fell down steps Our puppy was excited to see us and when we let her out of her cage she was jumping around and jumped up and landed 1/2 way down the steps. She rolled on the steps and landed on our tiled floor at th bottom. She immediately started yelping and limping. It's been about 1 hour and she will not put any weight on it. She is shaking and can't get comfortable to lay down. We have her in a playpen to keep her confined and I am planning on going to the vet in the morning. Any advice for tonight? She's really hurting. |

| Do you have an ER vet nearby? If she is not putting any weight on it, she may have broken it. I would take her in if at all possible. poor baby

| DONT wait... she is too young to be in that kind of pain over night.. you NEED to find an er vet... she can go down hill fast. also she needs to be confined to something like a crate until you get to the vet .. which REALLY should be tonight.... |

| Thank you! Thank you so much for helping me with Lila. I took your advice and we went to the Emergency Vet last night. She broke her leg at the elbow... "lateral condylar fracture". She will be having surgery to repair it tomorrow. I'm really glad I took her! |

| Lila's surgery went well! We took her in for surgery on Friday. She had a lateral condylar fracture and they placed 3 pins in her elbow. They said she has full motion of the elbow and they expect full recovery. She was wrapped in a soft cast to allow some movement but she'll be confined for 4 weeks. She's pretty sleepy, eating & drinking (very little), and seems to be in good spirits most of the time. Thanks for all your help! |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Oh what a little darling, I'm so sorry this happened to you. We gated off the area to the steps for the first 1½ years, he was kind of clumsy as a puppy, and you might want to place a throw rug at the bottom of the steps, tile is so unforgiving. I'm so glad you were able to take her to the emergency room and get the necessary surgery for her, hope she has a speedy recovery.

| Aw, bless the poor little angel's heart. Look at her beautiful face! At least she looks cute as a button even though she's all wrapped up.
