| Oliver is home Thanks so much for all your positive thoughts and prayers. Oliver's stent was placed yesterday and the non invasive procedure went well. We actually brought him home last night. His collapse was severe and they believed it was a birth defect. They used a mesh titanium or stainless steel stent. We need to keep him calm during the next few weeks since the stent will be joining with the airway tissue. He is on antibiotics, cough meds, and prednisone for a month. We know that the procedure has risks but we need to stay hopeful. He was extremely hungry last night but is resting now. He's very alert though. I guess he wants to make sure he's not going back to the hospital! What a relief not to hear him honking and gasping for breath. Truly a miracle to us. We were very happy with the hospital and all their calls and concern. If you have any specific questions let me know. I'll keep you updated. Many, many thanks! |
