So glad to hear he's been doing better. I've been following this thread. Poor Eddie! He must be done with the medication, right? How is he feeling now? Anymore sneezes? |
Just checking for an update. Hope Eddie's still doing better! |
Today is just Day 1 with no meds, and no change so far. He did sneeze once and I started to panic, but I think it was just a regular ol' sneeze. He's been fine since then. |
I've been reading this thread off and on and I'm glad to see he's all better, it sure sucks to have a sick puppy .. hope it keeps up:thumbup: |
Keeping our fingers and paws crossed that all is well!!! |
Eddie Check??? |
So far, so good. He's off the meds and only one sneeze today, and I think that was incidental. |
Oh I'm soo happy he's better!!! Poor Eddie having to go through this. I'm be crossing my fingers for you and praying he'll be sneeze free! I'm glad he's been feeling better tho! |
That's really good news Mike. Finger's crossed that Eddie is in the clear:xfingers: That was too close for comfort Eddie. Keep you head above ground. |

my gus had a variety of this plant in his cottony fur recently.. but it was matted into the skin for 5-6 days when he was lost... long story... but when he was found, we shaved him and there was severe redness and stages of skin burning... there were hundreds of seeds a yellow color.. it took one month to heal...i would use a qtip to clean the nares with saline :aimeeyork he sneezed for a week or so :aimeeyork my poor gusgus looks very funny right now its a miracle we got him back...:animal36 |

Here's an update for everyone who was kind enough to post their concerns here. Sorry it took me so long. Eddie seems to be doing great. When I pulled him off the antibiotics, he sneezed only a few times, and they seemed like regular sneezes, not the violent multiple ones that he was having before. The only weird thing was his reverse sneezing got real bad. He was honking and choking more than he's ever done. I wasn't sure what the heck that meant. There's also a chance that it's not reverse sneezing, that he has trachea issues. And I lost his harness and was using his buckle collar for about a week. He wasn't pulling on his leash, so I thought it might be OK. Anyhow, I found the harness and the reverse sneezing/trachea issues, whatever it is, has subsided in the last couple days. And the regular sneezing hasn't picked up. I'm not 100 percent sure he's out of the woods, but I'm feeling pretty good about it. I think it's safe to say that whatever was causing the sneezing has worked itself out. And for those who read my thread about him mistaking me for Jack and biting me on the nose, we've been working real hard on his guarding issues. Neither dog has been allowed on the bed without an invitation, and even then they are training sessions to get them used to sharing. They're not sleeping with us. They're not happy about that, and my wife is even more upset. She misses her snuggler. But I want to give them a couple weeks of work before trying them again on the bed. I'm confident we'll be able to work it out. So thanks again for following our scary odyssey. I think YT magic worked! |
Hi Mike! I'm soooo glad to know Eddie is doing okay! What a scare you've been through. I hope he continues to improve. I've sure been thinking of you a lot. I didn't know Eddie bit you...I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't believe he'd bite on purpose...maybe something scared him? Hugs to you and yours! |
