My 14 year old Shih Tzu has always done this. My vet said it was due to an overbite. It is a defect but, it has never bothered her as far as eating or drining. It's even worse the last couple of years because she had to have most of her teeth pulled. She was just very prone to bad teeth. Anyway her tongue is two different colors now. The bottom part is darker the the part that stays in her mouth. I'm not sure if it's anything to be concerned about or not. If she is eating and drinking well. Good luck. Sheila | |

| My Misty does this and the other day i was in a pet store holding an 8 week old and her tongue never went in. I think it's like a pacifier to them. But from reading all of your posts I have to go with a "yorkie thing". |

| Starsky did this too. It was so cute, but now that he is almost 8 months old he doesn't do it anymore.

| As you can see in the picture, my guy also sticks out his tongue. One of my other Yorkies did it, too. It's so cute!! |
